Bless Jesus Christ, O Cardoness,
With grateful lifted eyes,
Who taught that not the soul alone
But body too shall rise!
For had He said :- ' The soul alone
From death I will deliver,'
Alas! alas! O Cardoness,
Then hadst you lain for ever!
