The Beginners Guide to Robert Burns

Question - Who was Robert Burns and why all the Fuss?
fg
Who was Robert Burns? What kind of man was he? What made him famous? Why is he considered so important? Why do millions of people regularly celebrate his memory? Why, more than two hundred years after his death, is Robert Burns still one of the most celebrated men in cultural & social history throughout the World? Why all the fuss?

Here at The World Burns Club we intend to make available a series of articles, which we hope will help answer these questions. The articles will start from the absolute basics, commenting on all the questions we believe must be answered. The purpose of The Beginners Guide series is quite simple: -

  • To make the Robert Burns story and his writings more accessible & user friendly

  • To deliver quality content which will be appreciated by the massive audience in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Japan & throughout the entire world.

  • To help introduce a new generation of "Burnsian"

  • To grow the worldwide audience in Burns

  • To spread the fellowship & friendship of Burns and Scotland.

We also seek "Contributions" from you our visitors & members as well as our panel of "experts" In this way, we can truly build a resource of material for others to enjoy, refer to, and learn from. All contributed articles published will appear in our Archive areas. We also encourage friendly comment & debate on any article within our Discussion Forum.
