We recently received the following short note from one of our favourite contributors, Jessie Pettigrew. A fascinating little story which demonstrates the power of the Web…..not to mention this site!! We all hope you are well Jessie, and look forward to your input over Burns Season.

Thought that I would let you know that I owe your site a great big "thanks". One of my long lost friends from Canada has sent me an e-mail, being thirty years since we were last in touch. He remembered that I was more than interested in the Great Man and decided to see if I had an e-mail address somewhere on the net. He used the search engine "Google" and typed in "Pettigrew Burns Club".
Guess what?
He landed on your site, clicked "Discussion Forum" and lo and behold he found me on the "User's Profile"!!! You can't imagine how I felt in getting that e-mail. I am now in regular touch with his family, thanks to the World Burns Club!!
